The main strategic axes of Innovation catalysis where the ICAMCyL Foundation acts as a facilitator:
AXIS 1 Resources-Technology
To provide companies with cutting-edge technology through the continuous search and capture of opportunities in collaboration with research centers, companies, national and European partners in order to strengthen the region in strategic sectors through the coordination of strategies for endogenous resources, raw materials, advanced materials, energy, critical raw materials and Circular Economy in the Region of Castilla y León.
AXIS 2- Digital transformation
ICAMCyL directs its efforts to contribute to the implementation of digital transformation in the region, strengthening the competitiveness of its industrial fabric and promoting new productive activities (digital twins, artificial intelligence, robotics, lean manufacturing, digitization of the production process, process automation, simulation, internet of things, etc.). In this sense, ICAMCyL focuses on high impact projects essential for the implementation of Industry 4.0 in strategic sectors of Castilla y León, such as the raw materials industry, promoting innovation, increasing technological capital, contributing to the effort in R+D+i and the internationalization of small and medium enterprises as well as increasing and improving human capital in order to maximize the performance of the digital transformation.
AXIS 3 - Energy and CO2:
ICAMCyL focuses on value propositions aimed at reducing CO2 emissions with energy improvements and capture processes, technologies and alternative uses of CO2 in industrial symbiosis, as well as the potential use of energy carriers such as hydrogen. ICAMCyL is a key player in the strategic roadmap for coal transition in Castilla y León.
AXIS 4 - Innovation Ecosystems, Investments and Market Strategy
ICAMCYL builds innovation projects and promotes actions and alliances at local and international level, to form the innovation ecosystem around the interested company, developing concrete actions for the visualization of a potential business according to the multifactorial analysis at regional, national and European level. ICAMCyL actively participates in awareness, demonstration and training activities applied to the different funding programs to transfer to companies and entities, both innovative solutions and the most appropriate mechanisms for investment and attraction of funds, making companies more competitive and the region stronger.
AXIS 5 - Promotion of innovation and its social value
ICAMCyL promotes value beyond a specific project, designing and creating high impact communication and dissemination channels to capture business opportunities, alliances between sector agents and cross-fertilization between key sectors. ICAMCyL makes use of technologies and media to exploit, educate and disseminate to a specialized public and society, about raw materials, their applications, their importance for the EU, as well as the change management required for an adequate social acceptance of local agents involved in innovation projects.
AXIS 6 - Entrepreneurial drive and dynamism
ICAMCYL is a key player in the European policy of business cooperation and cluster dynamics. ICAMCyL holds the executive technical secretariat of the National Cluster of mining and associated services ISMC, which currently includes more than 85 companies, research entities and institutions that join efforts to consolidate the strengths of the mining sector by promoting the sustained economic growth of its members with special attention to SMEs, their competitiveness and the cooperation of its members.
