Are you interested in developing your scientific and professional career in a center dedicated to research and innovation?


At ICAMCyL we are looking for a proactive, dynamic person with extensive experience in the field of European funding, to fill the role of EU Project Design and Engagement Leader.

This person will promote the positioning of the ICAMCyL Foundation in major initiatives driven within the European context, and foster excellence and the attraction of opportunities. They will define the strategy for attracting EU funds to the Foundation in coordination with General Management, and execute it within the framework of operations coordination. They will be responsible for the design and launch of the Foundation’s international proposals.

Functions:

  • Analysis of the programs approved by the EC in which the Foundation may participate.
  • Design and engagement of project proposals in line with existing European programs.
  • Participation in meetings, encounters, events, and other activities for the establishment of consortia for the generation of European project proposals and their execution.
  • Decision-making for participation in project proposals.
  • Design and creation of international consortia for proposal development.
  • Identification of opportunities for the Foundation’s integration into new consortia and proposals.
  • Contribution to the execution and justification of European projects as considered by management.

Essential requirements:

  • University degree in science or engineering. Master’s studies and especially a PhD will be valued. Postdoctoral experience will also be considered.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in writing and reviewing EU projects and in their execution.
  • In-depth knowledge of funding bodies and managers of international R&D&I programs.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Horizon Europe program, especially its programs, partnerships, major initiatives, and public and private actors. Experience in previous framework programs – Horizon 2020.
  • Very high level of English, equivalent to C1.

Other valuable aspects:

  • Experience in public presentations in English.
  • Experience in international partnerships in Interreg, LIFE, or similar projects.
  • Analytical skills for the exploitation and promotion of R&D projects. Readiness to face new challenges, ability to work under pressure and with EC deadlines. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with flexibility and high motivation.
  • Skills to explore international funding opportunities from both public and private institutions.
  • Negotiation skills, ability to reach agreements, and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to adapt to a confidential, team-based, dynamic work environment with demanding deadlines.
  • Experience in the justification of international projects.
  • Solution-oriented approach and proactive attitude.
  • Skills in applicable computer tools and knowledge of a third language (French, German, etc.).
  • Team management experience.

Working conditions:

  • Salary range between €35,000–€45,000, depending on experience and qualifications, plus a variable component linked to achievement of objectives.
  • Positive work environment, with a young, highly professional team in a dynamic Foundation in continuous growth and development.
  • Full-time employment, 1,792 hours/year.
  • Permanent contract.
  • Immediate start.
  • Possibility of remote or hybrid work.
