Fundación ICAMCyL will be attending the Mining and Minerals Hall (MMH) 2026, an international mining industry event taking place in Seville from 20 to 22 October. The Foundation will have an exhibition space representing the European IRM HUB project, where its team will present the project's objectives and progress, as well as ICAMCyL's work in innovation, strategic raw materials and industrial development.
In addition, on Thursday, 22 October, ICAMCyL will organise the event “IRMHUB Policy Observatory. Funding & Financing Workshop for Strategic Raw Materials Innovation” as part of the IRM HUB project. The workshop will focus on regulatory challenges and funding opportunities to help bring innovation in strategic raw materials to industrial deployment.
Meet ICAMCyL at Stand 1128, Hall 1
Throughout the three-day event, visitors will be able to meet the Fundación ICAMCyL team at Stand 1128 in Hall 1, where the IRM HUB project will be represented.
This will be an opportunity to learn more about the project's objectives, exchange experiences with industry professionals and discuss the Foundation's work in research, development and innovation (R&D&I), strategic raw materials and European cooperation.
An event on strategic raw materials policy and financing
On 22 October, from 9:30 to 12:30, the workshop “IRMHUB Policy Observatory. Funding & Financing Workshop for Strategic Raw Materials Innovation” will bring together institutional representatives, public policy experts, industry organisations and professionals from the industrial and financial sectors.
The event will be held in a hybrid format and is free to attend. Click here to register.
The workshop will explore how to improve the conditions that enable innovations in strategic raw materials to progress from research and development to industrial deployment. Discussions will address regulatory barriers, challenges related to the social acceptance of projects, and funding options to scale up new technologies and processes.
The agenda is structured around three main thematic areas:
- European policy and strategic context. Presentation of the IRM HUB Policy Observatory, its objectives and its role in connecting public policy, regional innovation and industrial deployment.
- Regulatory barriers and social acceptance. Analysis of the social licence to operate, environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria, and the need to strengthen interregional cooperation.
- Funding for industrial scale-up. European funding instruments, challenges in financing first-of-a-kind industrial projects, and preparing innovations to attract investment.
The workshop will feature contributions from representatives of the Regional Government of Andalusia, TalTech, EFIS Centre, IRMA, RM SLO Plus Hub, Atlantic Copper, CTA, ISMC, Ecocastulum and MNLT Innovations, among other organisations.
